Stuart Little 3: The Call of the Wild (2005)

“Stuart Little 3: The Call of the Wild” is the first Stuart Little film to be animated, rather than shot in live action. The voices of the characters are the same (Geena Davis as Eleanor, Hugh Laurie as Fredrick, Michael J. Fox as Stuart) with the exception of George, who is now voiced by Corey Padnos. Jonathan Lipnicki, George’s original voice, is now too old to sound like a little boy. The Littles are on their way to the lake for a relaxing vacation. Eleanor is looking forward to a whole summer with nothing to do, but when they arrive … Continue reading

Stuart Little 2 (2002)

Stuart (voiced by Michael J. Fox) loves being a member of the Little family. They have done everything they can to make him a happy home, including building him a whole bedroom complete with tiny furniture on the top bunk of his brother George’s bed. He’s enrolled in school and drives his tiny car to and from class. He’s even a member of the soccer team. But he’s still not completely happy – his mother, Eleanor Little (Geena Davis) is overprotective, and keeps him from having fun. His father, Fredrick (Hugh Laurie) tells him that it’s just because she loves … Continue reading

Stuart Little (1999)

Eleanor and Fredrick Little (Geena Davis, Hugh Laurie) are a loving couple with one son, George (Jonathan Lipnicki.) They’ve wanted another child for some time, but haven’t been able to have one. Deciding to adopt, they head down to the orphanage and find themselves having a conversation with a small mouse named Stuart. Mind you, it wasn’t their intention to adopt a mouse, but it all just seemed so right. They take Stuart home and introduce him to George, who isn’t so sure about having a mouse for a brother. But Snowbell, the cat (voiced by Nathan Lane) is delighted. … Continue reading

Pet Mouse Feeding

Your pet mice need a balanced diet in order to be healthy, playful, and happy. In fact, their diet needs much of the same basics a human diet needs! Your mice need carbohydrates: this is basically the main portion of the mouse diet. Whole or rolled oats, hay, stale whole wheat bread, cooked whole wheat pasta. Your mice need vegetables: vitamins and minerals come from fresh vegetables like greens, carrots, peas, and more. Some veggies (or too much of a single veggie) can upset the stomach and leave you with a very messy cage. Your mice need protein: this can … Continue reading

A Frugal (and Humane) “Do it Yourself” Mousetrap

Last night I was busy blogging in my dining room when I heard a scurrying sound in the kitchen. I knew immediately what it was. “Ug…here we go again”, I grumbled. A few weeks earlier we had a mouse who had been visiting our kitchen each evening. My husband purchased sticky tape traps and placed them on the kitchen floor. Unfortunately, he left for work early that morning and left me with a frantic little mouse to deal with. It was awful. “Oh mommy…he’s so cute”, my daughter squealed when she saw our very own Stuart Little. I could stand … Continue reading

M. Night Shyamalan – The Man Behind the Camera

Marjorie just blogged about one of my favorite horror movies, The Sixth Sense, but let’s talk about the man behind the camera. M. Night Shyamalan was born in 1970 in India but his parents (both doctors) soon moved the family to Penn Valley, Pennsylvania. He attended a private Episcopalian school in Philadelphia. Even as a youngster, he had a love for filmmaking. He attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he acquired his middle name, Night. His film career started out very slowly. His first film, Praying with Anger, was shown at the Toronto Film Festival in … Continue reading
