Grace is Gone (2007)

Last night I stayed up late to watch “Grace is Gone.” I have to say, it’s been awhile since a film touched me so very deeply. John Cusack brilliantly portrays Stanley Phillips, a man who wanted to serve in the military so badly, he cheated on the vision test so he could get into the Army. When his doctor on base discovers that his eyesight is terrible, he kicks Stanley out, but Stanley has already met Grace, a beautiful cadet, and they are married. They have two daughters, Heidi and Dawn, and they’ve built a life together. When Grace is … Continue reading

Martian Child (2007)

“Martian Child” is one of the most touching films I’ve seen in a while. John Cusack stars as David, a man whose wife died two years ago. She was adopted, and it had always been her dream to adopt a child too, and they had planned on it. But her unexpected death changed their plans. As a bestselling science fiction novelist, he has a life of his own and isn’t sure that becoming a father is right … Continue reading

The Sochi Institute will spend the next few years performing experiments in order to select forty monkeys with the right stuff for space flight. Those forty monkeys will graduate to the Institute of Biomedical Problems in Moscow. At the … Continue reading

First, I really enjoyed “The Pursuit of Happyness.” Starring Will Smith as a man who can’t seem to support his family, try though he may, you’ll be inspired by our main character’s determination and drive. He rose above his poverty-stricken life to become one of the most successful stock brokers in our nation’s history. “I Could Never Be Your Woman” stars Michelle Pfeiffer as a mature television writer who gets tangled … Continue reading
