Inspector Gadget 2 (2003)

When I saw that “Inspector Gadget” the movie had a sequel, with a different star, no less, I hoped it would be better than the first attempt at turning this cartoon into a live-action movie. It was different. It was less violent. Was it better? Well, it was sillier. I think that trying to compare the two would be difficult. Inspector Gadget (1999)

I grew up watching the cartoon, so when I saw that the adventures of the lovable cyber-sleuth had been made into a movie, I was excited to see it. The jury’s still out on what I thought of it – perhaps writing this review will help crystallize my opinion. Matthew Broderick stars as John Brown, a security guard who longs to be a real policeman. Project X (1987)

In the 1987 movie “Project X,” Helen Hunt stars as Teri, a graduate student at a prestigious university. Her thesis project revolves around teaching sign language to a chimpanzee she affectionately names Virgil. He’s a sweet little chimp with a sense of humor, and she’s very attached to him, but when her project doesn’t merit more funding, she has to give him up. She doesn’t have the money to purchase him or to care for him. It breaks her heart, but she agrees to send him to a zoo.
